Wild horse roundup drawing fierce opposition

A major roundup of an estimated 2,500 wild mustangs in Northern Nevada set for Monday has protestors calling for Congress to step in.

Wild horse advocates gathered outside the entrance of Red Rock Canyon, managed by Bureau of Land Management, on the eve of the roundup to make their voices heard.

KENT A horse rescued by firefighters after he got stuck in a hole has a date in next year's Lake Carmel fire parade, if he pulls through.

The 34-year-old Morgan named Parader got stuck Tuesday morning at Kent Cliff Farms on Schrade Road.

An appalling discovery was made in West Philadelphia Wednesday when four emaciated horses were discovered at a rundown stable.

Notice those quotation marks -- the mud-filled, rundown lot on Ogden Street had a few plywood boxes that were kind of like stables but weren't well kept. The lot was so foul that even a goat apparently living in the area chose to jump up on a rooftop rather than deal with the mud and manure.

Waldoboro, Maine Police Investigates Seven Dead Horses

Waldoboro police say they have a person of interest in a possible animal abuse case involving seven dead horses.

Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde says the person is the owner of the horses, which have all died in the last several months -- three in the last week.

Life-long equestrians lost ten horses and a pony that died in a fire Tuesday at their Salem Township barn.

The couple hes 77 and shes 82 -- discovered their barn in the 6100 block of Six Mile Road fully engulfed in flames at 6 p.m., Washtenaw County Sheriffs Office Sgt. Lisa King said today. Nestled in an area between Ann Arbor and Northville north of M-14 dotted with horse barns, theirs was destroyed in the blaze.
